Dr. Candy Caceres is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with dual licensure in California and Florida. She earned her MA in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University and later completed her Doctorate in Psychology, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy, at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
As a solution-focused therapist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life.
I’m Kel Mathews, an LMFT with 11 years of experience helping individuals, families, and groups navigate life's challenges. I specialize in trauma, minority stress, crisis intervention, and working with diverse populations, including at-risk youth and the LGBTQ community. I’m currently pursuing a Doctorate in Psychology, deepening my expertise in systemic issues and mental health. My warm, affirming approach empowers clients to find strength and healing.
I believe every relationship holds the capacity to heal, grow, and transform. If you’ve found your way here, it probably means you’re ready for change. You don’t have to face it alone. My passion is helping couples break free from painful cycles, rebuild trust, and rediscover the closeness that first brought them together. Clients often tell me that what makes my work different is the balance of honesty and compassion I bring into the room. I won’t shy away from the hard truths, but I deliver them with care and a deep commitment to helping you thrive.
Welcome!
As a licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT), I believe in prioritizing out mental health as a way to live a happy and balance life. Reaching out for help can be one of the hardest things a person can do, great job on taking that step! I’ve been practicing for 10 years, but in the field for 20 plus years. In the last 6 years I have shifted my main focus to adults 18 plus who are struggling with trauma and substance use.
Starting therapy can feel uncomfortable or even a little awkward, especially if you’re not sure what to expect. I try to make the process feel more human and less clinical.
I’m a direct therapist, which means I’ll share what I’m noticing and offer interpretations, but always in a way that feels collaborative, not overwhelming. Over time, those insights tend to become more accurate as we get to know each other.
I also believe not every therapist is the right fit, and that’s something we can be open about. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable being real, while also being gently challenged in ways that help you grow.
