As a seasoned psychotherapist licensed in Colorado, Ohio, Vermont, and Wisconsin, I bring a specialized approach to mental health care, centering on assisting women grappling with Anxiety, Complex PTSD, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. My practice integrates a blend of traditional psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems, Exposure and Response Prevention, Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy and Creative Arts Therapies, all designed to empower and heal. This unique combination not only addresses immediate symptoms but also challenges the deep-seated beliefs shaped by societal and familial pressures.
I am Betty Steer, a dual board-certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC) and a graduate of the University of Nebraska Medical Center. My mission is to change the conversation around mental health. Beyond my clinical practice, I am an active advocate for mental health. Choosing to prioritize your mental wellness is an act of strength. Whether you are seeking support for yourself or your child, you deserve a provider who treats you as a whole person, not just a diagnosis. I am currently welcoming new patients. You’ve carried this weight alone long enough—call or email me today to take the first step toward reclaiming your stability and joy
At the heart of my work is connection. I offer a warm, grounded, and compassionate space for teens ages 12 and up, adults, seniors, and couples who may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or impacted by trauma, grief, relationship stress, or major life transitions.
Many of the people I work with are carrying a lot internally while trying to keep going on the outside. In therapy, you do not need to have everything figured out before you begin. My style is attuned, honest, and supportive, with space for both insight and practical tools.
My background includes trauma-informed work in high-acuity clinical settings, as well as years of supporting people through growth, transition, and change. My goal is to help clients feel more connected to themselves, more regulated in their nervous systems, and more able to move forward with clarity, confidence, and self-trust.
We need your light. ✨ It is time.
As a licensed clinical social worker with a master’s degree from The National Catholic School of Social Services, I bring extensive experience from my work in university-based teaching hospitals and ambulatory care clinics. My practice focuses on supporting adults and their caregivers through challenges such as anxiety, depression, complex medical conditions (acute and chronic), medical trauma, loss, grief, and significant life transitions.
I have a specialization in guiding individuals and their caregivers through the cancer journey, encompassing every phase—from diagnosis and treatment to recovery, survivorship, and end-of-life care. I have also worked extensively with patients undergoing stem cell transplants, CAR-T and immunotherapy.
My training and experience also includes helping individuals manage disorders of the brain-gut interaction. Support, education and strategies address the connection between the mind and gastrointestinal health. Recognizing that everyday stressors can greatly affect your well-being, I adapt my clinical approach to suit a variety of life situations, always tailoring care to meet your unique needs.

Attending to our mental wellbeing is the first step towards an improved life. My goal is to help you make that a reality with my experience.
Everyone's story and experiences matter. I'm endlessly amazed at the resiliency and strength that each person holds, but doesn't always recognize. I'm passionate about helping clients identify and explore the challenges, stressors, trauma, and issues that have caused distress in their life. Through clinical internships and post-graduate employment I have a combined 8 years of experience working with adolescents and adults experiencing a wide range and severity of issues in varying roles.
I bring warmth, humor, and clear guidance to therapy. Cognitive techniques help uncover how thoughts shape emotions and actions, while mindfulness fosters calm and focus. We’ll also explore your values to guide our work. Humor keeps things light, and directness ensures we stay on track. Together, we’ll work toward lasting growth and confidence.I earned my Master’s in Counseling from Wake Forest University.
