My journey stems from my own story of resilience in the face of hardships. I became a therapist because I have always wanted to help people through some of their darkest hours. Being exposed to some dark hours myself, I know that it is difficult to do it alone. When you have someone to confide in, assist you through the hard times, and just let you know that you are not alone, makes a difference.
My therapeutic approach includes CBT, Person-Centered Therapy, Relational Therapy, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, SFT, EMT, Gestalt, and just speaking like a human being. I offer a compassionate, trauma-informed space where you can feel safe, seen, and supported. My approach is relational and personalized—we'll explore your story together, build coping tools, and move toward healing with curiosity, courage, and care.
Therapy with me is real, down-to-earth, and never boring. I mix honesty, humor, and heart to make the process comfortable. I help adults manage emotions, build confidence, and tackle life's challenges with tools that work. Think of it as a safe space to be yourself, grow, and maybe laugh along the way.
We are working together to help you on your journey. I am openminded, direct and creative in my approach. When appropriate I use humor. I am an observer by nature and curious about my clients and their journey
I earned my PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Florida and received clinical training in hospital and college counseling settings at the University of Florida, Northwestern University, and New College of Florida. I specialize in individual therapy with adults in their 20s, 30s, and 40s struggling with anxiety, OCD, trauma responses, adjustment stress, or identity struggles that make it difficult to balance the many demands of modern life.
As adults in this society, the pressures of adjusting to life changes, both expected and unexpected, and living up to the expectations of ourselves and others can feel overwhelming. This often results in perfectionism, low self-confidence, relationship difficulties, work difficulties, loss of meaning, depression, or burnout. Therapy can be a helpful way to address this.
I am passionate about supporting my clients to feel congruent internally, so they can further understand and communicate their needs externally. While talking is the most obvious way for communication, I also love to incorporate our somatic experiences during sessions (with your agreement, of course). As an immigrant from Taiwan, it's also my mission to provide my expertise for people struggling with "fit in", while transitioning to any new environments.
I'm a therapist, yoga teacher, mindfulness teacher, and somatic bodyworker. I help people restore a mind-body connection to increase resilience, health, and wellbeing. I graduated from Smith College School for Social Work in 2016. I am also a Trauma Release Exercise Provider.
