Hi, I’m Arah — a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Texas. I specialize in working with moms, young adults and teens who are learning to navigate the many changes and challenges that come with life transitions, emotional growth, and identity.
As a mom myself, I understand how hard it can be to balance caring for others while trying to stay connected to yourself. My passion is helping mothers rediscover who they are beyond their roles, manage stress, and find peace in the midst of chaos. I also love working with teens who may be struggling with anxiety, self-esteem, or feeling misunderstood, helping them find their voice and build confidence.
I have over five years of experience in mental health, supporting children, teens, and adults through anxiety, depression, life transitions, and family stress. I hold a master’s degree in counseling and use an integrative approach that includes cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and person-centered techniques.
In our sessions, you can expect a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space to explore your emotions, develop practical coping tools, and create meaningful change. My goal is to help you feel empowered, grounded, and capable of thriving in every season of your life.
Since 2011, I have worked with women at all stages of pregnancy and motherhood, including those who have experienced infertility, pregnancy loss or complications, birth trauma, a NICU stay and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders.
I am dedicated to providing support to parents and being a mom myself, I understand the joys and hardships!
I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin and I have a BS in Psychology from Texas State University.
I am an over-the-top passionate millennial therapist who LOVES helping children, adolescents, and young adults navigate the complexities of their emotional and behavioral well-being. I hold deep-rooted values for empathy, patience, trust, and collaboration with clients and parents. I create a nurturing, relatable, and nonjudgmental space where minds can feel heard and understood. By actively listening and demonstrating genuine care, I foster a solid therapeutic alliance that empowers my clients to explore and feel their emotions, develop coping and interpersonal strategies, overcome challenges, and experience healing.
I place equal importance on evidence-based practices and having an excellent therapeutic relationship with my clients. My genuine, caring approach aids in the efficacy of the science-backed treatments used in trauma, complex PTSD, anxiety, depression, and borderline personality disorder. I also treat male and female victims of sexual assault.
After listening to you and hearing your story, we design a treatment plan together. I have various approaches and will share with you which treatments will best help you meet your treatment goals, and we’ll determine a direction together. For some clients, an approach with homework keeps them engaged. Others prefer eye movement therapy because trauma is processed quickly, and you don't have to find the right words. Still, others want an inviting and comfortable place to process their feelings in a nonjudgmental environment.
I believe that my clients have wisdom within themselves. Effective therapy avoids advice-giving; it walks beside the client on their journey, allowing them to come to their truth and not the therapist’s truth.
