One's mental health is equally as important as physical health. With this belief, I decided to devote my time in building my practice, Open Horizons. I'm a psychologist trained in clinical/forensic psychology. My training and experience have allowed me to develop clinical expertise in treatment modalities that are evidence based, such as CBT and ACT. I have extensive training in the assessment of psychological concerns including diagnostic clarification/personality functioning.
Hi, I’m Arah — a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Texas. I specialize in working with moms, young adults and teens who are learning to navigate the many changes and challenges that come with life transitions, emotional growth, and identity.
As a mom myself, I understand how hard it can be to balance caring for others while trying to stay connected to yourself. My passion is helping mothers rediscover who they are beyond their roles, manage stress, and find peace in the midst of chaos. I also love working with teens who may be struggling with anxiety, self-esteem, or feeling misunderstood, helping them find their voice and build confidence.
I have over five years of experience in mental health, supporting children, teens, and adults through anxiety, depression, life transitions, and family stress. I hold a master’s degree in counseling and use an integrative approach that includes cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and person-centered techniques.
In our sessions, you can expect a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space to explore your emotions, develop practical coping tools, and create meaningful change. My goal is to help you feel empowered, grounded, and capable of thriving in every season of your life.
Dr. Anand Jayanti is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist with a passion for helping individuals and couples enhance their communication and emotional understanding. Born in India and raised throughout America, Dr. Jayanti's multicultural upbringing has deeply influenced his empathetic approach to psychiatry. As a child, he was often described as a "thinker," a trait that led him to channel his feelings through work. It was during his young adulthood that he realized the importance of not only thinking, but also openly expressing, a journey that continues to shape his professional and personal life. Dr. Jayanti earned his medical degree from Texas A&M College of Medicine and continued his training at The University of Texas at Austin. He completed his residency at the UT Health Science Center in Tyler and pursued a fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at UT Dell in Austin. Dr. Jayanti believes that improving communication is key to enhancing wellbeing in relationships. Throughout his life, he observed how misunderstandings between people often stemmed not from bad intentions but from a lack of tools and insights to understand and communicate their feelings. Dr. Jayanti sees patients struggling with relationships, marital issues, depression, anxiety, attention deficit, and trauma.
Clients should know that I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with specialized training and experience working with trauma, depression, and anxiety.
