My name is Mariana Nogueira, LCSW, and I am a bilingual therapist with over a decade of experience working with individuals and families navigating trauma, grief, immigration, chronic illness, and major life transitions. I received my Master’s in Social Work from California State University, Sacramento, and have extensive training in trauma-focused therapies and mindfulness-based approaches.
Over the years, I have worked in hospice care, hospital settings, cancer centers, community mental health, and with immigrant and undocumented communities. These experiences have deeply shaped my commitment to culturally responsive, trauma-informed therapy.
I specialize in supporting adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, burnout, identity transitions, or who feel caught between cultures.
Hi, I’m Athena, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I’m really glad you’re here.
My approach to therapy is rooted in relationship, authenticity, and care. I believe healing begins when you feel genuinely seen and safe enough to show up as yourself. Building that kind of connection takes time, and I honor that process. Therapy with me is not rushed. It is intentional, person-centered, and grounded in respect for your lived experience.
I work primarily with Black women and families of color, and this work is both personal and purposeful for me. As a Black woman, I understand what it means to carry layered expectations, to navigate systems that were not built with us in mind, and to advocate for yourself in spaces where you should already feel protected. I have witnessed, both personally and through loved ones, the harm that can occur in medical and mental health settings when our voices are minimized or misunderstood. My commitment is to create a space that centers you, honors your story, and holds your experience with care.
I love working with individuals to improve their quality of life.
Finding and embracing your authentic self is a journey that can be challenging. Figuring out how to cope in a healthy way with what the world throws at us can be difficult. I'm interested in working with you to figure out how you want your life and experiences to be, and how to start making your way there. I've been practicing for over 5 years, working mainly with LGBTQ+ young adults and adults struggling with anxiety, gender, and interpersonal communication issues.
Welcome! I am looking forward to learning about you and discovering how we might work together to help you live your best life.
I am a bilingual Marriage and Family Therapist for 8 years. I enjoy working with clients who struggle from depression and/or anxiety symptoms. I feel that imperative to feel comfortable and "click" with your therapist in order for your therapy experience to be positive and most effective. Allowing clients to feel comfortable to open up and talk about anything they want to focus on by learning the tools that best fit for their issues.
Welcome! I am a clinical psychologist who specializes in working with young adults, LGBTQ+ people (especially transgender and non-binary), trauma, and emotional instability (including borderline personality disorder). I am passionate about making patients feel understood and empowering them to change their lives. I am currently seeing clients online in California, New York, and Virginia and in person in Berkeley, CA.

Life can be especially difficult for people today. It is my goal to assist all my clients starting at age 3 years, through adults to learn how to make healthy and positive decisions in their lives and to empower them to have a good, healthy self image and to successfully move into their future.
