Hello, my name is Tyra Hughes and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I live and work in the Bay Area of California. A large part of my professional experience has been working with individuals and families who are struggling with relationship issues, parenting challenges, trauma, the justice system and intimate partner violence.
Hello! My name is Sharon Chan and I've have over 14 years of experience. I work with clients struggling with anxiety, depression and trauma. I also have experience working with the highly sensitive person.
I became a therapist to help people suffer less and grow more. I have 15 years of experience in private practice, a mental health jail and a high-needs public clinic. I have led therapy groups focusing on childhood trauma, men's groups, feeling safe in love, attachment, codependence and spirituality. I was awarded Employee of the Year for LA County's Department of Mental Health. I supervise developing therapists and provide trainings on best clinical practices through public speaking and professional development.
For over 20 years, I've specialized in Palliative & Hospice care, supporting adults as they navigate cancer, chronic illness, grief, challenging family dynamics & end-of-life concerns. I also work with caregivers and healthcare professionals experiencing burnout and emotional fatigue. When you or someone you love is facing cancer or another serious condition, everything can feel uncertain. Together we can create space for the parts of you that feel overwhelmed or scared, and the ones trying to stay strong. You don’t have to carry this alone.
I understand the challenges of navigating the healthcare system and the importance of advocating for yourself or a loved one impacted by illness. As an educator and bedside clinician, I’ve supported countless patients and families in accessing California’s End of Life Option Act. Whether you are a patient or caregiver, I would be privileged to support you on this journey and believe that nobody should have to face such difficulties on their own. I also work with healthcare professionals—doctors, nurses, and social workers—who give so much of themselves and sometimes need space to process and recharge.
Throughout my career, I've worked collaboratively on interdisciplinary teams, focusing specifically on the psychosocial needs of individuals impacted by medical challenges and the family members caring for them.
As a Stanford-trained Psychiatrist, I offer medication management and therapy for a range of conditions including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, anger, stress, burnout, divorce, addiction, and others. I see adults age 18-60. I am also board certified in Addiction Medicine. I am not treating ADHD with stimulant medications at the current time due to in-person visit requirements to prescribe controlled substances. I am unable to offer therapy only if you have another psychiatrist (I will need to manage your psychiatric medications).
I help clients navigate life's challenges and achieve greater fulfillment. Whether you're facing stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or self-esteem concerns, I'm here to support and empower you on your journey toward positive change.
I'm passionate about how therapy has changed my life, and I hope it can do the same for you. My approach is person-centered and collaborative to create a safe space where you can express your thoughts and feelings free of judgment. Life is difficult at times, and change can feel overwhelming. I look forward to walking with you on this journey.
