I work with adults (18+) navigating a wide range of challenges, including trauma, grief, ADHD, anxiety, identity exploration, and life transitions. My approach is trauma-informed and deeply compassionate, grounded in the belief that healing unfolds through connection, trust, and nervous system safety. Drawing from the principles of Polyvagal Theory, I support clients in understanding how their autonomic responses are adaptive and rooted in the body’s innate drive for protection. Together, we work to gently restore a sense of regulation, safety, and connection. I tailor therapy to each individual's unique needs by integrating a variety of modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS-informed), somatic therapy, person-centered and psychodynamic therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness practices.
I hold specialized training in ADHD treatment and am an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider. My advanced clinical training includes EMDRIA-Approved EMDR Basic Training (Parts 1 & 2), Advanced EMDR Skills Training through the Trauma Therapist Institute, Foundations of Internal Family Systems Therapy, IFS-informed EMDR, Embodied Healing for Developmental Trauma, and specialized OCD trainings. My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming and committed to creating a safe, inclusive space for all identities.
Since seeing how the community health system hasn't worked for many in the Southwest, I want therapy to be accessible for my clients. So, I can come to you or my office or virtually! I am 1 of only a couple Spanish-speaking therapist in our region, so I work a lot with the immigrant community. Although I am not Latine, I have worked alongside the Latine community for over 10 years and it is a cultural home for me. Whether I am speaking English or Spanish, my personality still comes through. I also work in homelessness, so I'm comfortable with issues like housing insecurity, substance use, psychosis, suicidality & case management.
Addressing life difficulties can be overwhelming, stressful and isolating. It takes a lot of courage to overcome your obstacles, but doing it alone may not be enough. I believe that building a strong connection is the most important thing in beginning to help you. It is important that you feel safe, understood and valued. I offer compassion, creative thinking and humor to help clients work towards their goals.
