Although my degree is in Mental Health Counseling, my treatment method is psychoanalysis. This means that each treatment is developed and conducted for the client in question, their specific issues and inquiries they have about their own symptom.
Psychoanalysis emphasizes on guiding individuals in finding their own resources, gaining a knowledge about what is happing to them and the cause of their distress.
If you're struggling and looking for extra support—whether you're navigating a major life transition, facing challenges in your mood or relationships, or working through past trauma—I’m here to help! I seek to help my clients manage a variety of issues unique to women and couples, including the emotional and psychological changes that accompany your fertility and parenting journey. I frequently work with concerns related to infertility, loss, pregnancy, the postpartum period and the menopause transition. I bring specialized training in anxiety, depression, self-esteem, parental support, and relationship issues. My goal as a therapist is to walk alongside you through life’s challenges, helping you grow into a healthier, more fulfilled version of yourself.
I was born in Wyoming and raised in Colorado. I attended The University of Northern Colorado for my undergraduate degree in Psychology and then I completed my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University.
I have certifications in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy.
I am accepting new clients.
We all need someone to listen to, understand, and support us, especially during times of uncertainty and transition. My goal is to create a safe, therapeutic space in which you feel comfortable to be yourself and share your fears, hopes, and struggles. As each client is a unique individual, I feel the process of counseling should be tailored to meet your specific needs. I believe you are the expert in your own life, and have the innate ability to heal.
As a licensed counselor, I believe that prioritizing mental health is foundational to each of our wellbeing. I appreciate you taking the first step in improving your relationship with yourself and others. The focus of my practice is helping those that feel anxious, disconnected or negatively effected by the experiences they have had in life.
I have over a decade of experience supporting individuals through therapeutic, holistic, and integrative practices. With a Master’s degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from Naropa University and a background in psychology from the University of British Columbia, my work is rooted in a deep understanding of both clinical approaches and human potential.
Small town living is a special kind of living. I have lived in northeastern Colorado my entire life, except for a short 5 years in Olympia, WA. I understand small town life.
I decided to become a therapist 14 years ago and completed my Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Northcentral University. My passion for helping families and individuals heal led me to specialize in Medical Family Therapy and to also receive advance training in EMDR therapy.
Sometimes life overwhelms us, but it doesn’t have to. I believe we all have the potential to control the way we react to situations we face.
